The vision of Plastindia International University is to provide world- class education and produce well groomed, well trained, culturally sensitive human resource to Plastics and allied industries by integrating technology and management courses. Shri Mehta is Chairman, Governing Council of AIPMA and President of Plastindia International University at Vapi, Gujarat. He is a B.Sc. (Hons.) from University of Kolhapur. The Chairman and Managing Director of M/s. Welset Plast Extrusions Private Ltd., Mumbai, he has vast knowledge in international Plastics trade. His company is the leading manufacturer and exporter of PVC medical compounds, thermo plastics elastomers and colour master batches in the country with four separate plants at Silvassa. During his tenurel, Plastindia 2009 was held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The world was witnessing an economic slowdown but Plastindia 2009 was a big success. The event gave Indian Plastics Industry, a global recognition where huge business was generated. It was inaugurated by none other than President of India, Smt. Pratibhatai Patil. He is also the first person from Asia to be elected as the Executive Director of CIPAD i.e. Council of International Plastics Association Directors which is a Global Plastics Association of 49 countries with its headquarters in USA.
His vision facilitating the export, led to the growth of Indian Plastics Industry and made India a global sourcing hub for Plastics. During his tenure as President, Plastindia Foundation, he played key role in acquiring land from GIDC at Vapi. He is widely travelled and has conducted and attended number of exhibitions, seminars and conferences at national & international levels.
Dr. Bishnoi is a consultant with 24 years of professional experience in organizations like Siemens, General Electric, L&T etc. He is currently working as a consultant in individual capacity in higher technical education segment since September 2015. He worked as a Director General for the proposed GSFC University to be set up at Jaspur near Vadodara. The role involved complete responsibility to set up a Green Field Private University with initial focus on degrees in Engineering and Management. He launched the university in August 2015 as the First Provost of the University.
