Biography

Dr. Parijat Shukla specializes in computer architecture, high‑performance computing (HPC), and machine learning accelerators. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University under the guidance of Prof. Arun K. Somani, where his doctoral research focused on efficient similarity computations on parallel machines using data shaping. He earned his M.S. in Computer Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). During his M.S., he worked under guidance of Dr. Jie Hu on thesis focusing on reliance chip multiprocessor architecture based on hardware transaction processing. He holds a B.Tech. in Information & Communication Technology from DAIICT (now Dhirubhai Ambani University), Gandhinagar.

Over the past 15+ years, Dr. Shukla has held research and engineering roles across academia, industry, and supercomputing centers. His career spans contributions to exascale computing execution models, GPU‑accelerated similarity computations, firmware optimization for ML hardware accelerators, and architecture‑specific algorithm design. He has worked with leading organizations including Marvell Semiconductor, Xilinx (now AMD), Cray Supercomputers (now HPE), and the Irish Centre for High-End Computing. He also has a been with Reliance Communications and Nokia Siemens Networks.

Dr. Shukla also has interest in technology entrepreneurship. In Seattle, he founded a startup named Optimely focusing on development of platform-centric optimized solutions for medical applications.
